Two-doors coupes tests
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) did a crash safety on the popular two-doors coupes. The test cars are the Chevrolet Cobalt, Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Scion tC, and Volvo C30.
The tests are based on the cars rated acceptable or better in frontal, side, and rear crash tests.
Well the findings are out and the Volvo C30 and Ford Focus earned the Institute’s highest Top Safety Pick award. What does that means?
It indicates from the test result, among the cars, these two coupes has good protection to occupants in front, side, and rear collisions. It also offers electronic stability control.
As for the rest of the cars, the Honda Civic and Chevrolet Cobalt coupes rated just behind with Good front and rear crash test ratings, and Acceptable side crash ratings.
The worse of the lot is Scion tC which received Acceptable ratings in front and side crashes and a Marginal rating for rear crashes.
