Why I need a Garmin-Asus G60 badly!

by Uncle Sha18th Dec 2009

Last week, as I stared out the window in front of me, I was stumped to either continue taking my current course down Upper East Coast Road, or take a left turn into Evergreen Gardens.

clueless-blondeI was driving clueless, and felt like a dumb blonde there and then, no pun intended of course.

Well I opted to continue driving down Upper East Coast Road in search of road signs of my destination, Primrose Avenue.

I was slated to meet a client at the Casafina building down at Primrose Avenue, and I was still on the road with ten minutes to go until meeting time, with no sight of Primrose Avenue anywhere.

Well to finally conclude my driving experience last week as you can predict it didn’t go down too well.

I finally found out from my friend after calling him, that I should have taken the left turn into Evergreen Gardens. Duh!

For that meeting I was twenty minutes late, and with a self-diagnosed OCD of being very particular about my tardiness, I had gave a bad first impression for that particular client.

I apologized terribly many times over obviously that day, and despite him saying it’s alright, having a good first impression goes a long way in my line of business.

I can partly blame it on my ‘blurness’ (confusion) of not being well versed with the roads in the East side of Singapore. I’m more of a West and North side person, considering I lived there my whole life.

Still I could have researched the roads before venturing the roads with an online street directory, but being a guy, my ego got in the way, and I was truly sure and confident I could find the place all on my own.

With that I’ve learned my lesson, and I began to research how could my driving experience could improve and be enriched.

Well I turned to the web, and did a Google, and the search results always came out tops with … guess what is it people:

Garmin-Asus G60 and Garmin-Asus M20.

Yes it is a GPS unit by Garmin-Asus. I’ve never really thought of installing a Global Positioning System on my car, but my experience have taught me otherwise.

As you can read from the above I need all the help I can get, if not for my ego, it is for sparing my clients of wasted time.

Not only it is a navigational aid, but Garmin-Asus unit is also an Internet-enabled mobile phone. It has similar user interface as my iPhone such as touchscreen with virtual keyboards and buttons.

As I delve further researching into the Garmin-Asus GPS unit, I got more interested. I truly was attracted by the kick-ass features as I read further. To think I was getting all excited by just reading the model specification details online.

I wouldn’t want to imagine my excitement state, if I were to get my hands on such a gadget. We boys love our gizmos right eh dudes.

Video Review

For me personally, from all that reading and researching I did, I feel both models are excellent GPS units, but the user-interface with G60 is similar to handling a smartphone, while M20 has a more compact and mobile feel to it. Choose the latter if you’re short of space.

Nonetheless, both models have the the same range of location-based services, such as Ciao! and the integration of GPS with contacts.

If given a choice between the two, I would want the G60 please!

You know what I’m so excited by the G60 model, that I was even reading the installation manual!

It’s pretty easy, you just need to docked into a vehicle mount, snap it, and you’re done!

After that you can enjoy a trouble free ride with your GPS navigation tool, while simultaneously enabling hands-free calls if you wishes.

And you know what, I would think that the Garmin-Asus G60 would look good on my Toyota Vios 1.5E car dashboard.

I could just imagine myself with glee playing doodling around with it, like Batman in his Batmobile.

Alright maybe I’m stretching it a bit with my sci-fi comic expectations, but still it’s a cool toy to play with.

So that’s why I need a Garmin-Asus G60 badly!

Give this dude a break, and let him have his G60 …
