On 8 April, 2010, Ferrari announced official details of the 599 GTO.

The car is a road going version based on the 599XX and Ferrari say the 599 GTO is their fastest road car ever, able to lap the Fiorano test circuit in 1 minute 24 seconds.

Its engine produces 500 kW (680 PS; 671 hp) at 8250 rpm, with 620 N·m (460 lb·ft) of torque available on offer at 6500 rpm.

Ferrari claim the 599 GTO can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.35 seconds and has a top speed of over 335 km/h (208 mph).

Production will be limited to 599 cars, and all have been sold out.
