The Citroën DS is an executive car produced by the French manufacturer Citroën between 1955 and 1975. Styled by Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni, the DS is known for its futuristic body design and innovative technology, including hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension.
Le Monde reported on February 2, 2009 that Peugeot Citroën would re-introduce the DS to the car market in 2010. It was further stated that the new release would not be a single model, but a high-quality line, much as the original series was produced.
